Teaching

The courses of the Process and Plant Safety Department are integrated into the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in both mechanical engineering and safety engineering.

The development and optimization of safe and efficient processes and plants will be a particular challenge for future engineers. On the one hand, this requires profound basic and specialised knowledge, and on the other hand, method-oriented thinking beyond the technical boundaries. In this context, learning strategies for solving technical problems is of paramount importance.

In order to comprehensively cover the complex field of process and plant safety, a new focus "Process and Plant Safety", which addresses the current and future challenges of the process engineering industry, is being planned. In addition to the classic content, modern and interdisciplinary issues (e.g. increasing efficiency, sustainability, digitalisation, IT security) will be taken into account and the current state of research and development will be integrated into the courses.
